Abstrakt: The article presents a study on the presence of sulawesi tortoise adenovirus-1 (STAdV-1) in two impressed tortoise (Manouria impressa) and a Burmese star tortoise (Geochelone platynota). The study provides an overview on the STAdV-1, a virus infecting endangered and threatened tortoises. It suggests the presence of systemic viral infection with histopathologic features of adenovirus in impressed tortoises that died. It uses consensus nested polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing and subsequent sequencing of PCR to identify the adenovirus.
