The article discusses the Glover House in Lead, South Dakota, built by Mary Baker Eddy, founder of the Church of Christ, Scientist, for her son, George Washington Glover, Jr. It examines the relationship between mother and son, noting their estrangement and their reconciliation later in life. Glover's visits to see Eddy in Boston are considered, as are Eddy's investments in her son's company, the Glover Gold Mining Company. The author also comments on her experiences of living in the Glover House during the 1950s. |
