| Abstrakt: | An essay regarding the factors contributing to the disappearance of the English play text from the Beverly Cycle in England is presented. It investigates the apparent cessation of the production of the Beverly Cycle by Chester drama due to the absence of extant local records that provide hint of a reason for the cycle to have been abandoned after almost 150 years of customary performance. It outlines the relevant religious drama records between Beverly and that of Chester between 520 and 1930. |
