Abstrakt: The article describes the case of a female patient with inherited thrombophilia and taking oral contraceptive pills who sustained an extensive deep venous thrombosis (DVT). The results of regular blood and chemistry tests and screening for acquired and inherited thrombophilia are discussed. Information on factor V Leiden as the most common inherited risk factor for venous thrombosis is provided.
