| Abstrakt: | Chapter I of the book "The Road to Self-Revival: Sufism, Heritage, Intertextuality and Meta-Poetry in Modern Arabic Poetry" is presented. It explores the tendency of modern Arabic poetry to summon Sufi figures, their philosophy and terms, and their attitudes and practices. It highlights a number of Sufi figures in the poetry of Abdul Wahab al-Bayyati, Ali Ahmad Said, Salah Abdu-s-Sabur and Mahmud Darwish. |
