The article presents information on a study which detailed the construction of selection indices in pig on the basis of body weight at different ages. Data utilized were collected from 1061 halfbred inter se and 993 graded inter se pigs housed at the All India Coordinated Research Project on Pigs at Assam Agricultural University, Khanapara, Guwahati, India. It concludes the efficiency of the index selection as against the direct selection for all the five traits. |
