Abstrakt: The article discusses research into the relationship between the design of a city and the built environment on physical activity in Quebec, focusing on an index of census metropolitan areas (CMAs) in Quebec and their walkabality. Topics mentioned include the association between age and choice of commute to work, the changing face of Quebec's metropolitan areas and the rise in the amount of walking among residents of these cites, and cooperation among public health policy-makers and urban planners in creating spaces conducive to non-motorized transportation such as walking and bicycle.
