The article examines midwive's use of social networking sites such as Facebook, citing excerpts from the Midwifery Council Code of Conduct that provide guidance on the issue. The code discusses issues of accountability and professional conduct and clarifies the Council's position on using such sites. Implications for midwives sharing personal information on Facebook are highlighted. It is recommended that midwives do not become friends with patients on social networking sites. |
