This paper attempts to explore the effects of domineeringness and dominance on spouses' ability to accurately predict each others' responses. Domineeringness and dominance are considered to be aspects of the dyad's relational communication structure and the accuracy of prediction is conceived of as an index of understanding. A modified stepwise regression procedure was used to derive the predictive models that accounted for 4670 and 2670 of the variance m the husbands' and wives' understanding scores respectively.
