Abstrakt: This chapter provides information on the history of BMX racing. BMX means 'bicycle motorcross'. Freestyle BMX is performing tricks. BMX racing is a race against your opponents. BMX racing began in California in the 1970s. Riders learned that regular bikes couldn't take the beating. Manufacturers made a bike just for racing. The cost is $100 to $600. Racers race on tracks 800 to 1400 hundred feet long. Tracks have jumps, bumps and turns.
