Chapter 4 of the book "Gender, Journalism, and Equity: Canadian, U.S., and European Experiences" is presented. It compares the journalistic role conceptions of Canadian journalists with their U.S. and European counterparts, their social roles and mission in contemporary democracy. Data shows the social role choices of Canadian versus American and European journalists, ranking of journalistic tasks, Canadian broadcast and print roles, gendered interactions and work expectations in the newsroom. |
