In this study, the authors examined the Journal of Technology and Teacher Education to determine research trends from the past decade (2001-2010). Topical (via EBSCO subject term analysis), article types, and authorship trends were all analyzed. A few of JTATE's seminal articles were also identified using Publish or Perish. Findings were then compared to the stated aims and scope of the journal. The analysis revealed the journal has had a strong emphasis on teaching methods, teacher attitudes, distance education, and professional development, in addition to educational technology and preservice teacher education. Interpretative and design-based research studies have been most common, and collaborative authorship is an increasing trend. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
