The article discusses a study which developed a new kinetic model for planning and optimization improvements in refinery economics. It involved tests of hydrodesulfurization (HDS) and hydrocracking of a vacuum gas oil (VGO) to determine the kinetic parameters of the reaction. It says that the tests established a pseudohomogenous first-order kinetic model which offers refiners a new tool that responds to more stringent fuel specifications and higher refinery complexities. |
