The article discusses the non-permanent marriages practiced in Islam which can either lead to sexual exploitation of young women from poor families or legitimate sexual relationships. Mut'a and misyar marriages are described to be used as loopholes for prostitution, affairs and for poor families to sell their daughters to wealthy visiting foreign men. Upper or middle class women and women over 30 are cited to use non-permanent marriages when they do not want a permanent one. |
