The article provides a review of silk export and import in India. The Indian Ministry of Textiles has set a target of 988 million U.S. dollars in terms of silk goods exports. The U.S., France, and Germany are among the top importers of Indian silk goods. Export earnings through the major ports in India accounted to 122.31 million U.S. dollars against the total export earnings of 135.51 million U.S. dollars. |
