Abstrakt: The article offers information on cavernous sinus thrombophlebitis (CST). It is caused by retrograde extension resulting from a valveless system of the vein that links paranasal cavities to the cavernous sinus. A blac turbinate sign secondary to dry gangrene in affected tissues may indicate early stages of paranasal mucormycosis. It notes the importance of correct diagnosis in the early treatment of CST.
