Abstrakt: The present study aims at providing an alternative method for cleaning highly soiled apparel. In conventional wet cleaning process agitation plays an important role. Mechanical agitation provided by manual scrubbing or brushing, agitation or rotor in a washing machine result in fabric damage. Repeated washings cause progressive damage. Despite technological strides in developing better detergents and more efficient washing machines, heavily soiled areas in a garment like collars and cuffs are still a challenge. The washing machines work with limited rotational speed, further increase in speed of machines would also increase the damage to laundry articles. In this study an attempt has been made to use ultrasonic energy to replace, manual scrubbing or brushing. Ultrasonic generates high intensity physical force on fabric yet it is a fiber gentle, eco-friendly and effective method for cleaning heavily soiled apparel In this study various experiments were conducted to study effect of Time, Temperature, Detergent concentration on cleaning. Experiments have shown encouraging results. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
