The article presents information on the effect of bankruptcy law on religion and the relationships between the two fields. It discusses the origin of the law including exemption of personal property and discharge of debt from religious traditions. It further focuses on the treatment of religious institutions and individuals in bankruptcy, the bankruptcy law for several Muslim countries and their Islamic religious law. It also discusses Christian morality and Jewish and American bankruptcy law. |
