The article discusses the lending practices and the lender/borrower relationship after the recession. The unavailability of credit after the disappearance of the commercial mortgage-backed securities market, and impairment to bank balance sheets are cited for altering the relationship between lender and borrower. There are ramifications to the shift in leverage from borrower to lender depending on the quality of particular deals and the creditworthiness of particular borrowers. |
