Abstrakt: A conference paper on preliminary findings of a nationwide case-control study on the etiology of osteonecrosis of the jaw (ONJ) is presented which determines the relationship of oral hygiene to subsequent ONJ risk. It reports that patient who brushed once or more than 1 time per day versus those reporting not to brush once a day did not have a lowered ONJ risk, indicating that oral hygiene does not play a role in the prevention of the onset of ONJ.
