The article discusses the poorly understood and sparsely drilled Precambrian rocks that have numerous undrilled prospects and may possibly contain previously unidentified source rocks either in the Precambrian or Cambrian. It indicates that 11 wells encountered Precambrian sedimentary rocks out of the 207 Ohio Precambrian tests. It notes the possibility of significant hydrocarbon existing in Precambrian sedimentary rocks of the East Continental Rift Basin (ECRB) and GP foreland basin strata. |
