Abstrakt: The article discusses chamber and optode work conducted during the 2007 ARK-XXII/1A-C scientific expedition to arctic waters to quantify transport dynamics along a gradient of stations from sites colonized by Beggiatoa and Pogonophora towards sediments that are not affected by methane seepage. Water samples were analyzed for oxygen, nutrients, and sulfide and methane concentrations. The benthic chamber was deployed eight times to measure the total oxygen consumption of various habitats at the Håkon Mosb Mud Volcano in the Norwegian continental shelf.
