Abstrakt: The article discusses a research study on the association of breast cancer family history with tumor characteristics and mortality of young women diagnosed with invasive breast cancer (IBC). Researchers in the population-based study of 1,260 women with IBC before age 46 were analysed with the exclusion of breast cancer gene1/breast cancer gene2 (BRCA1/BRCA2) carriers. Results showed 40% reduced risk of dying due to breast cancer among women with first-degree family history of breast cancer.
