| Abstrakt: | The article reports on a symposium held in Salzburg, Austria on March 4-6, 2011 on the life and work of 18th-century court kapellmeister (music director) Luigi Gatti. Topics of discussion at the conference included Gatti's compositions, the lack of biographical information extant for Gatti, and Gatti's impact on later composers including MIchael Haydn, Leopold Mozrt, and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Some of Gatti's compositions were performed by the musical group Ensemble Scaramouche. |
