Abstrakt:	The article discusses the viability of a claim by an unsecured creditor of one Texas spouse against the community property of the other spouse which has been granted in a divorce proceeding. According to the article, the laws regarding marital property have changed dramatically since the Texas Supreme Court last dealt with this issue in the 1874 case of Richey v. Hare. The liability of one spouse for the marital debt of the other spouse is examined under Texas law.
