The article discusses Canada's Minister of Natural Resources Joe Oliver's criticism against abuse of regulatory processes and the funding of the effort by interest groups outside of the country, at a hearing on the proposed Northern Gateway pipeline by Enbridge. Oliver claims that some groups threaten Canada's regulatory system and undermine its economic interest. He points out that Prime Minister Stephen Harper's administration will not allow extremists to dictate environmental policy. |
