Abstrakt: The article focuses on the outbreak of monensin poisoning in horses and ostriches found in farm in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Research finds that three ostriches move reluctantly and have sternal permanent recumbency. It notes the gross changes in horses such as endocardial and epicardial hemorrhages, multifocal myocardial pallor, and bilateral yellowish white foci in skeletal muscles.
