The article discusses the changes in services for blinded veterans in the U.S. The Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAMC), which treats members of the Blinded Veterans Association (BVA), closes its doors. The Defense Appropriations Committee in the Senate votes for the reduction of combat eye trauma research funding. The National Alliance for Eye Vision Research, American Optometric Association, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology support the advocacy of BVA in defense-related vision research. |
