| Abstrakt: |
The article reviews the new classification criteria for axial spondyloarthritis (SpA) developed by the Assessment of SpondyloArthritis international Society (ASAS). The new criteria for axial SpA are designed to help clinicians to make earlier diagnosis and facilitate clinical trials. The rationale behind developing the new criteria and the process of development are discussed. The differences between the old and new criteria are explained. Parameters applied in the classification are defined. |
