The article discusses a study on the patterns generated by pulsed field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) of genomic DNA from isolates of P. aeruginosa from an outbreak of endometritis on a Thoroughbred breeding farm. All isolations of P. aeruginosa were obtained from swabs of male and female urogenital tracts. It shows evidence that using PFGE of fragments of genomic DNA has value in epidemiological investigations of equine urogenital tract infections with P. aeruginosa. |
