The article discusses news and developments in the silk industry in India in June 2011. An increase of 23.6 percent and a decrease of 7.8 percent in quantity were reported concerning mulberry raw silk transactions at silk exchanges of Karnataka in June 2011. An overview of prices of filiature/cottage basin, duplon ands charka raw silks at Bangalore Silk Exchange in June is provided. Also discussed is the average price for improved cross breed reeling cocoon. |
