The article describes the selective cylinder deactivation used in the FAUmax, the race car of High-Octane Motorsports e. V. from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg in Germany. It explains how the special cylinder filling control avoids the disadvantages of an open clutch, heavy actuator and breakage of rear wheels. A solution was developed to build a buffer of torque with high dynamic. It discusses the functionality of a channel with high-side switch and the cylinder deactivation parameters. |
