Abstrakt: A description of the planning, implementation, and evaluation of Internet graduate nutrition courses is covered in this article. Graduate nutrition courses provided through the Internet offer an opportunity to many students to complete graduate courses at a time and place that best meet each student's need. Careful planning and thoughtful use of the variety of communication tools built into each Internet course allows students access to course materials. Course delivery methods included lecture material as narrated graphics by either a course CD or streamed over the Internet, threaded discussions, chat rooms with instructor-led discussions, and e-mail. These approaches provided guidance in meeting course objectives. Each student demonstrated mastery of course content at the application and synthesis levels by means of discussion questions and mini projects. Student course evaluations were positive for almost all aspects of the courses offered and students indicated they were interested in taking more Internet courses.
