The article focuses on issues concerning the rise of cost of policing and the advantages and disadvantages of amalgamation, consolidation and regionalization of police agencies. It states that amalgamation, restructuring and reconfiguration of police resources do not always achieve the desired outcomes and can be viewed as regressive steps that could diminish both public safety and the police officer. Meanwhile, it discusses situations related to the law enforcement community worldwide. |
