The article reports on a Royal Marine from 42 Commando who was killed in Helmand province in Afghanistan on August 30, 2011. The Royal Marine was fatally injured by an improvised explosive device (IED) during a foot patrol to break up an insurgent activity in the Sukmanda area of Nahr-e Saraj. Spokesman for Task Force Helmand Lieutenant Colonel Tim Purbrick has spoken with deep regret over the death of a Royal Marine. |
