Abstrakt: The article discusses research on the effects of the rising atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2) levels on the serpent starfish from Cawsand Bay, Plymouth Sound, England. It references the study "Interaction of Ocean Acidification and Temperature: The High Cost of Survival in the Brittlestar Ophiura ophiura," by H. L. Wood et al. in a 2010 issue of "Marine Biology." Survival rate was 100% at the two temperatures and all potential of hydrogen (pH) treatments. Metabolic rate rose when pH decreases.
