The article presents research which focused on the efficiency of friction stir welding (FSW) or processing for hardbanding in gas and oil applications. The researchers developed a D2 tool steel as a hardbanding material that can be used for drilling pipe tool joints. They also attached the tool to the surface of an alloy steel and performed several microhardness tests. |
