The article presents the author's insights on English literature and archives in Southampton, England. The author considers the literary works, theories and beliefs of several historians and authors in historical investigation including Mark Cousins, Penelope Lively, and Peter L. Allen. He mentions the role of post-modern theory or documentary evidence in literary texts similar to the records of Southampton which provide facts to traditional theatre history. He says that the use of dramatic records should reflect and shape individual's experiences, beliefs and nature of the records. Moreover, it explores the historical settings in Southampton where musicians Richard March, John Goddislond and William Goldfynch showed impressive performance. |
