In Turkey, the use of the Internet in education and distance learning applications are mainly initiated through major universities. On the other hand, the integration of information technologies in secondary schools is among the main issues in our time. The quality and efficiency in such applications require careful and continuous assessment in the area. The general information on students' access to the Internet and their use of the Internet could be a good indication of effects of the Internet in educational fields in Turkey.. The purpose of this paper is to give an indication of Turkish secondary school students' use of the Internet, based on the results of the Program for International Students Assessment (PISA 2003).
