Abstrakt: The article focuses on various daylilies bred in the U.S. states of Washington and Oregon that have the distinction of earning the American Hemerocallis Society (AHS) Awards. One of these daylilies is 'All American Chief' with a huge bright red 9-inch flower which is the 2008 Stout Medal Winner. A honorable mention awardee is the 'Cradle of Bethlehem' that has a large double triangle center of green and chartreuse outlined by a light blue purple watermark. Oregon's 'Apricot Angel' is a 1972 Don Fischer Memorial Award winner for best miniature cultivar.
