Abstrakt: The article offers information about two new devices for geophysical exploration developed by the Geological Survey of Finland (GTK), the GTK-FreM and the EMRE devices. It notes that both devices are electromagnetic down-hole systems intended for localizing and studying deep electrically conductive ore deposits and other conductive structures. A memory logger is used by the GTK-FrEM device and no data transmission is required via logging cables. Radio wave tomography is used by the EMRE device in cross-borehole surveys for two-dimensional (2D) mapping of rock conductivity. It adds that the EMRE system has proven its potential in exploration geophysics and that its repetition level is very good.
