| Abstrakt: |
The article reviews preclinical and clinical studies on some novel classes of analgesics that target nerve growth factor/TrkA signaling, the interaction between the immune and nervous systems and intracellular signaling cascades recruited in the transition from acute to chronic pain. Understanding the mechanisms underlying chronic pain and developing new analgesics that target these mechanisms continue to grow. The question is whether these new drugs will eventually make it to market, hence scientific understanding seem the only viable approach. |
