Abstrakt: An essay is presented on black gay men on television. It offers a mode of analysis that focused on the black gay character of Calvin Owens in the American Broadcasting Co. (ABC) Family series "Greek." The author argues the shifting of the character's blackness and gayness depending on the situation he is into. It adds that the shifting of the character is called as politics of respectability which is a strategy to garner community acceptance.
