| Abstrakt: | The article focuses on the recording career of the Coasters and their associated act, the Robins. It recalls the initial success of the songs "Girls Girls Girls" and "Little Egypt (Ying-Yang)," which they recorded under Atco in 1960s. It cites the numerous challenges facing the original members of the Coasters with Cornell Gunter and Bobby Nunn working for cheaper money and the departure of composers Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller from Atco. The group was inducted at the second annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in January 1987. |
