The article discusses the development of a collaborative project between the honors underclassmen in HNRS 140, On Motion and Mechanics, and senior applied majors in Math 495, Mathematical Modeling, at the Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California. It notes that the students were set out for the reconstruction of an old photography with the use of a straightforward geometry-based mathematical technique. It states that the collaboration aims to let the students experience several aspects of the applied work which include the instance of complex solutions for applied problems, and the need of interdisciplinary teamwork for creative and investigative projects. |
