The article presents details of an in vitro study on the effect of the antibiotic cefovecin against gram-positive and gram-negative aerobic bacteria collected from cats and dogs treated at the Clinics of the University of Zagreb Veterinary Faculty of Croatia. Part of the results show that non-hemolytic streptococci had the highest resistance to cefovecin at 50% of the isolates possibly because the strains were enterococci. Comparison of cefovecin with beta-hemolytic streptococci and Pseudomonas multocida is also discussed. |
