Abstrakt: The article offers information on the Joseph A. Witt Winter Garden, an important hub in the Washington Park Arboretum. It had several problems to address prior to its renovations. The lack of light and access along its southern edge is the most pressing one due to trees and shrubs that had outgrown their original allotments over time. In 1988, Iain Robertson and Tim Hohn proposed a plan that included the removal of the elm trees that allows morning light to reach all the plants in the garden.
