The article examines how training was able to improve farmers' practice in silkworm rearing for seed cocoon production in Badripur village, India. It notes a series of training programs conducted for 35 seed farmers by the Silkworm Seed Production Centre (SSPC), Dehradun from 2007 to 2009 which focused on new technologies for raising quality mulberry seed cocoons. The article describes the effect of the training program in terms of skills gained and the resulting improvement in cocoon productivity. |
