| Abstrakt: | The author explains the role of tourism in economic growth, job creation and development. About 5% of the world gross domestic product (GDP) is attributed to tourism. He stresses the direct impact of policies on employment, planning, transport, taxes or visas on the industry and importance of a supportive policy framework to the sector. He mentions his plan to continue promoting the economic impact of tourism given its relevance amid unbalanced recovery and high unemployment in 2011. |
