Abstrakt: The article presents a reprint of the essay "Science and Philosophy Guided Learning Versus Structured Discovery," by James S. Nyman, which appeared in the winter 2011 newsletter of the Orientation Center of the Nebraska Commission for the Blind. It explores the distinctions between the structured-discovery model and the guided models. It presents a description of structured-discovery method of teaching cane travel and contrasts it with the education and rehabilitation system instruction.
